No. While Heritage AI is designed to be particularly useful when encountering China and its heritage firsthand, its use is not limited to travellers.
It can complement educational, cultural, professional and other China-related programmer and activities, allowing people to explore questions prompted by what they are learning, experiencing or discovering.
Does Heritage AI work in mainland China?
Heritage AI is designed for practical use on local networks in mainland China and does not depend on travellers being able to access an international consumer AI service.
Actual access will depend on the mobile, Wi-Fi, network and service environment available at the traveller’s location.

What languages does Heritage AI support?
Heritage AI supports multiple languages, including both Simplified and Traditional Chinese. Other languages may be added as they are tested and supported.
Travellers can interact by text, and Text-to-Voice and Voice-to-Voice are available where supported by the selected language, device, network and service environment.

Is Heritage AI a normal travel app?
No. Heritage AI is primarily about understanding and discovery, rather than travel planning.

Do we need to change our itinerary?

No. Heritage AI is designed to complement the China tours you already operate. Send us your itinerary and Seeking China Heritage will check it against Heritage AI’s existing knowledge coverage.
Where there is a meaningful heritage gap, relevant research can be added or updated before the first departure.
What do we need to do?

For a new or materially changed itinerary, send it to Seeking China Heritage at least one month before the first departure.
For each confirmed tour, send the traveller list and accompanying guide details at least two weeks before departure.
Seeking China Heritage then prepares the applicable traveller and guide access.
For later departures using the same itinerary, you normally only need to provide the new traveller and guide list.
How do travellers use Heritage AI?

Travellers access Heritage AI on their own mobile devices and can ask questions by text or voice.
They can explore Real Heritage Mode or step into Wuxia Mode, depending on what interests them.
Answers can also be read aloud where supported, making Heritage AI convenient while travelling and visiting heritage locations.
Does Heritage AI replace our tour guide?

No. Heritage AI is intended to complement the guide, not replace one.
A guide provides the human experience of leading the group, managing the tour and interpreting what travellers encounter. Heritage AI gives individual travellers another way to pursue questions and interests that arise along the journey.
Will Heritage AI recommend other tours or attractions to our customers?

No. For travellers accessing Heritage AI through a partner tour, it does not recommend alternative attractions, tours, hotels, restaurants or other travel services.
Heritage AI is designed to support the Partner’s itinerary rather than compete with it.
Can our guides use Heritage AI too?

Guides can use Heritage AI to explore additional historical context, connections or questions that arise during a journey, while travellers can independently pursue their own interests and questions.
