China's heritage is far more than historic monuments or famous attractions. It is a living story shaped by thousands of years of history, culture, traditions, literature and legends — and by the people who continue to preserve them today.
Seeking China Heritage (寻华遗韵) works with travel partners to bring these stories closer to people through Heritage AI, supported by deep heritage research.
Our aim is simple: to help people go beyond “What am I looking at?” and discover why a place matters, who shaped its story, and how it connects with the wider heritage of China.

Heritage AI is a digital heritage companion designed to help people explore China with greater cultural and historical understanding.
It allows users to ask their own questions and receive concise, accessible answers supported by deeper heritage research. They can explore historical events and personalities, stories and legends, connections between places, ancestral and migration histories, details worth noticing, and how places and traditions changed through time.
Heritage AI can complement journeys, educational programmes, cultural activities, professional visits and other China-related experiences, giving each person the freedom to follow their own curiosity.
Designed for use on personal mobile devices, Heritage AI can provide another layer of discovery before, during or after an experience.
Discovering the History Behind Your Roots
For people of Chinese heritage around the world, curiosity about China may begin with a more personal question: “Where did my family come from?”
Heritage AI helps people explore the historical and cultural context behind their roots — including ancestral regions, patterns of migration, overseas Chinese communities, and the historical connections between places in China and communities around the world.
Heritage AI is not a genealogy search or family-record tracing service. It does not identify individual ancestors or build family trees. Instead, it helps people understand the wider historical context behind family origins they already know or are curious about.
A connection to a province, city, dialect group or community can become a starting point for discovering why people migrated, how communities developed, what traditions travelled with them, and how those connections form part of the wider story of China.
From Real Heritage to the World of Wuxia
Heritage is not encountered only through historical sites.
For many people, their first connection with China may come through Wuxia (武侠) — the world of martial heroes, Jianghu, legendary swordsmen and stories made famous through novels, film, television and popular culture.
Heritage AI allows users to explore the real China behind the Wuxia world.
They can ask about places associated with Wuxia stories, distinguish historical figures from fictional characters and later legends, explore the cultural ideas behind Jianghu and martial traditions, and discover how real mountains, temples, cities and landscapes became part of China's Wuxia imagination.

Working With Organisations
Seeking China Heritage specialises in heritage interpretation, research and storytelling.
We are not a tour operator or travel planner. We developed Heritage AI to complement existing programmes, activities and journeys by adding an accessible layer of Chinese historical and cultural discovery. We work around each organisation’s existing programme or context, rather than requiring it to be redesigned.
Our role can include:
Heritage AI, including Heritage Mode and Wuxia exploration;
deep heritage research supporting relevant destinations, places and themes; and
Signature Series heritage concepts.
Travel planning, bookings and on-the-ground operations remain with the travel partner and its appointed service providers.
This allows organisations to retain their own programmes, activities and relationships while offering travellers another way to explore China's heritage.
